About this Website
and the Book
What started out to be a letter became a book which led to this website. My initial intention was to write a short letter to my family and friends to let them know why I was no longer Catholic. I wanted them know that I did not leave the Catholic Church on a silly whim, or because I was disgruntled about something because I wasn't, I have truly wonderful memories from my years growing up going to the Catholic Church, serving as an alter boy, and attending Catholic grade school for eight years. And I wanted to let them know that there are very important and sound biblical reasons why I left. On this website I would now like to share that information with you so that you, too, may become aware of how the teachings of the Catholic Church presented here compare to, and differ from, the teachings of the Bible. All Bible references are taken from The New American Bible for Catholics.
Please know that I did not write the book or build this website to judge or condemn anyone. I have written it out of love for my family, my friends, and others, and for my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. My hope and prayer is that you will be encouraged to seek Jesus with all of your heart and to think about what you believe, know why you believe it, and consider the eternal consequences of your beliefs.
Because of the eternal consequences, much prayer went into the research and writing of the book and this website, and I hope you take time to read through it and consider the information presented. I welcome your thoughts, comments, and questions and can be contacted via e-mail at:
